Trendspotting: Felt

06 Dec

Now that the temperatures have plummeted to freezing, I’m all about wrapping myself up in warm blankets, fleece jackets, and wool socks. Something about the textural quality of these items makes me feel both warm and happy. I’m also spotting felt popping up in scrapbooking products. I thought it would be fun to share a few of my finds with you today.

Basic Grey offers “Woolies” dimensional stickers with a felt texture. I love the earthy quality of this Marjolaine collection:

Looking for a quick holiday gift? These felt mittens by Martha Stewart by EK Success would be perfect for neighbor gifts:

Want a craft to complete with your kids? I love the new line from American Girl also by EK Success. What child wouldn’t love making this darling felt owl?

In need of a few more ideas, continue reading for additional inspiration!

I love a product that be used in both traditional scrapbooking and also for crafting. These felt flower stickers from American Crafts do have adhesive to be used as stickers or they can be glued onto a barrette or hairband for an entirely new look!

If you’re looking for a big statement piece, I love the felt lines from Prima. How lovely is this bird gate?

If you prefer to cut your own shapes from felt, may I recommend two companies with beautiful felt. The first is by well-known designer, Heather Bailey. She creates designer felt with a thicker consistency and in beautiful colors (she is, after all, known for her fabulous fabrics).

I also love the designer colors from Papertrey Ink. With new colors every month, you’re sure to find the exact color you need! (Be sure to check out their die cuts, as well, as they will cut easily through this gorgeous felt!)

Now it’s your turn to share! What’s your favorite felt product right now? Leave us a link to your favorites. We can’t wait to see what’s inspiring YOU!

I buy felt at Joann's. The 20% wool felt cuts beautifully. I've cut PTI dies as well as Tim Holtz Sizzix dies. I buy it in 6" widths and get a lot of die cuts.

I love to buy the felt myself and use it with my Cuttlebug and nestabilities and other dies. I love the result.
