Two of the hottest trends in home decor right now are feathers and the color gold. I thought it would be fun to combine the two and create a quick and easy little framed project for my entry table.
I’d love to share my process with you!
Here are the supplies I gathered:
Patterned Paper and Rub-ons - “From Me to You” by Pebbles, Inc.
Stamps – “Fly Away” by Technique Tuesday
Embossing Powder: “Gold Zing” by American Crafts
Gold Tape: American Crafts
Other: X-Acto Knife, heat gun, foam adhesive, stamping block, twine, frame
And here are the steps:
Start by Stamping the feather onto patterned paper with Versamark ink.
After the image has been stamped, pour gold embossing powder over the image:
Remove the extra powder and heat to emboss:
Use a craft knife to cut out the image:
Repeat on 3 more patterns:
Cut a 4×6 piece of patterned paper for the background and add a gold rub-on:
Add gold glitter tape/ribbon to either side of the rub-on.
Attach the feathers using foam adhesive for a bit of subtle dimension:
Tie twine around the top of each feather
Place completed piece in frame:
And that’s it – wasn’t that easy?!? Have you incorporated the trends of feathers or gold into your recent projects? We’d sure love to see what you’ve been working on – please leave a link in the comment section!
